man oh man. i haven’t blogged in a while, but i have good reason! to say the last month has been chaotic would be a huge understatement. jake and chloe and i have had a quite adventurous time lately. jake lost his job in charleston due to some jackasses who never deserved him to begin with - and we found work in savannah, ga. jake was making good money and i was making average money, but we were doing it! chloe went to an awesome daycare, and we were house hunting. then, SURPRISE! jake was laid off due to a lack of work for the company. apparently, the small business owner who hired him had lost a bid and couldn’t pay the new people he had just hired 2 weeks prior. well, my job was not enough to stay in savannah, so we came back “home” to jake’s mom’s house in ladson, sc. it has been a week, it has been fun, but we are ready for our next (ad)venture. jake has an AWESOME job opportunity in augusta, - interview monday - so we are heading that way very soon. meanwhile, i got my windshield replaced the other day and the wonderful tech put a 3.5” GASH in my vinyl on the dash near the windshield. so they are fixing it at 10am tomorrow. UGH! at least they are making it right. even though the tech would’ve never told me - i only found the gash because i inspect all work done to my car. after that is complete, our obligations in SC will be fulfilled. we need to head to GA asap to get the medicaid “ball” rolling for jake. might as well use it before we are employed.
chloe turned 1 today. HOLY CRAP is all i can say… WOW! i can’t believe i actually kept a child alive and well for A WHOLE YEAR. (haha) she was so cute with her cake. she did not destroy it; she only took tiny bites slowly. ADORABLE, i know. she went to monkey joe’s and played like crazy. videos to come.
for now i am EXHAUSTED and i need sleep
later
my oh my! the last month of my life has been CRAZY, to say the least.
i’ll start with chloe. she is 10 months & 13 days old. she crawls everywhere, has 6 teeth and they’re still coming, and she knows all sorts of cool things like pattycake and itsy bitsy spider! (thanks grandma sue!) she is the love of my life, and every day i learn something from her and thank God for this wonderful gift.
jake and i separated temporarily about a month ago. things were just getting “not good” (to sum it up) and we decided to take some time apart instead of destroying our relationship by continuing what we were doing wrong. anyway, it was nothing major, but we are making the necessary changes and i’m SO glad. i miss him terribly! the saying about absence making the heart grow fonder is definitely true, trust me. i’ve been staying in lexington, ga but now i’m ready to go back to charleston. i don’t want to live there forever, but i want to be where he is, and because of that i’ll live anywhere. i didn’t think i would miss him so much.
a while back, i posted when i bought my 2004 ford expedition. well, it got a little crazy on gas, so i decided to sell it and buy my 2nd dream car. my first was the honda prelude. been there, done that, would’ve driven it til the wheels fell off, but had chloe and couldn’t deal with a 2 door. so i started looking on craigslist, and finally found my new car. 2002 Lexus IS300 (5spd) in RED with BLACK interior. hell yeah! GO DAWGS! i bought it this morning in valdosta, ga. sue came with me & chloe, and we decided after getting the car that we’d drive the remaining 190 miles to panama city, FL and surprise lucinda and my daddy! oh man, they were freaking out! we didn’t let them know until we pulled up. i called lucinda and asked her to open the back door… she almost peed her pants! she ran (we saw her shadow in the window LOL) to the door and started screaming. haha. love love love surprises! especially making them happen for people i love! we’re gonna hang with them a little tomorrow and then head back to charleston friday morning. i think we’re probably gonna stop halfway and spend friday night in a hotel. 8 hours in a car is not good for chloe… sue and i need the break from the car as well. i feel like i’ve been running the roads for 3 months straight with all this traveling, buying cars, selling cars, etc. haha.
that said, it’s 12:12 am here, and my body thinks it’s 1:12 am, so - i’m getting some much needed sleep.

I love you Chloe. I enjoyed playing piano with you tonight. More than you’ll ever know, though I will do my best to show you all the time. Every second of every day you’re on my mind and in my heart.
Sorry I haven’t been blogging. I’m in the middle of house hunting, somewhat job hunting, helping out with a new restaurant, raising chloe (my favorite part) and more. I also don’t have a computer at the moment. That alone makes blogging very difficult!! Excuses, excuses.. Yeah I know. :) chloe is doing great. She will be 10 months old the day after I turn 24. 2 big milestones for us. We’ve temporarily relocated to the great big metro of Royston, GA. Google that and you’ll catch the sarcasm. ;) chloe has 4 teeth - 2 on bottom and 2 big ones on top that are just coming in. She keeps grinding her teeth together though, which is painful to hear, trust me. Like nails on a chalkboard. I’m surviving - trying to put chloe first, but I’m gonna need a spa day or something soon. My bday is May 5th, so hey if any of you wanna hook it up… Hint hint. Haha. I feel better to be back “home” in GA, but I’m still missing a big piece of the puzzle. I’m workin on it though, and I’m praying and hoping it comes to be. That’s it for now. I’m “zausted” as my lil sis Michelle would say. Night y’all.

Yesterday, Billy and I saw the longest rat tail we’ve ever seen.
These things aren’t the norm. They are not a fashion statement and they are NOT something cool to do to “stand out”. IT’S GROSS. The dude lives in my apartment building, but we have seen him and his tail around campus before. Rat tails were seen regularly in the ‘90’s, but this is 2011…2-0-1-1. There is no reason to have one section of your hair flowing independently of your head. You are not a boat with an anchor. You are not Rapunzel letting your tresses down. You are not one of the Smith kids, whipping your hair back and forth.
Some of you may be thinking ‘Leave the kid alone, he can do whatever he wants’ or ‘This is America…ye-haw!’, but obviously you do not own a mirror. Yes, looks aren’t everything, but you have to come to the realization that it is a big factor of first impressions (just ask your boss). One look at this fuzzy ringlet and you’ll want to call the exterminator…or a hair dresser.
Hahahahaha
